Woody O'Dell, longtime Mopar Master Technician at Abilene's Star Dodge Chrysler Jeep Ram and a two-time winner of Mopar's "Top Tech" award, received an invitation from Fiat Chrysler to attend the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit, one of the world's most iconic auto shows.
O'Dell was one of just 27 technicians invited to attend the NAIAS by Fiat Chrysler, out of a pool of over 26,000 eligible technicians across the country.
O'Dell has been working at Star Dodge Chrysler Jeep Ram for a total of 29 years and holds the highest level of certification that an automotive technician at Fiat Chrysler can obtain, which is Level 3 certification.
"Woody is a good person who is very valuable to our organization, who truly cares about taking care of his customers and fellow employees," said Mike Dunnahoo, President and CEO of Star Dodge Chrysler Jeep Ram Hyundai.
While attending the auto show, O'Dell got to take a look at the brand new 2019 RAM 1500 pickup truck, which he was greatly impressed by.
Some of the features of the brand new 2019 Ram that O'Dell enjoyed were the premium quality of the truck's craftsmanship, the 12-inch touch-screen on the truck's dashboard and the removal of the antenna mast from the pickup, which many drivers found to be a hindrance, especially when it comes to getting the vehicle cleaned.
Among the other things O'Dell was able to experience while visiting Michigan included a tour of Fiat Chrysler's testing rooms, where simulations of potential atmospheric conditions that cars can experience can be run and a trip to Meadow Brook Hall, a mansion built by Matilda Dodge Wilson and her husband, where O'Dell attended a commemorative dinner and awards banquet.
